Mrs G Lacy lived at Eastwood when the war started. Bombers used to come over trying to destroy a munitions factory near where they lived-she thought it was called Collaro.
She had the choice of working at Players or going away from home to work.
There was only one person earning a wage in their family as father suffered from coal dust on the lungs.
