Uncle Sid was involved in the rescue mission at Dunkirk. He had his own boat and sailed single-handedly across the Channel as part of the rescue mission. On arrival he jumped out of the boat and broke his ankle. He had to be rescued by the people he was trying to rescue!! Happily, all three made it back safely.
