A Job To Earn Some Stripes

My dad known as Les Brown was in the Royal Army Service Corps, and originally from Spaxton in Somerset. My dad was a lovely man, and not prone to having a temper, however, my dad had lovely dark hair and to his own dismay, ginger facial hair, his comrades knew this was a sore point with my dad and every time he used to earn his stripes, they knew exactly which buttons to press, and would tease him about it, this would get my dad riled and needless to say he would then lose his stripes...
