My friends and I were walking along the embankment on our way to work. Suddenly we could hear the noise of a plane, someone shouted “It’s a jerry get under the trees!” We flung ourselves under the trees. There was machine gunning and after he had gone, my friend’s sister cried out! We asked her what had happened and she said “I’ve laddered my stockings!
