A very long time ago, but memories are still very fresh.

Two years in Portsmouth on destroyers.

Commissioned at Greenwich then two years in Rothesay (Scotland) on submarines, very rewarding.

I joined the Royal Navy in December 1939 and served for six years on Atlantic convoys.

In April - May 1943 destroyed 10 U-boats and received congratulations from the Prime Minister - Winston Churchill.

Married my wife in May 1943 and have enjoyed real happiness for the last 62 years.
