  The Floral Hall, seating 1600, is a  
 venue for summer and one-off theatre  
 shows attracting national stars. It is
 also used for amateur productions.    
 The nearby cricket club caters for    
 private functions.  The seafront      
 Corner Cafe holds evening dances in   
 summer.  Dances, private functions and
 conferences are held during the rest  
 of the year.  The Scalby Mills Hotel  
 caters for private functions and along
 with the Ivanhoe public house employs 
 a pianist throughout the year, as does
 the Newlands Park during the winter.  
 A guitarist entertains in summertime. 
 The Barrowcliff and the Highfield     
 public houses have a singer each week.
 There are various summer evening      
 entertainments at Scalby Manor Hotel  
 and private functions during winter

In 2011 the BBC published the survey online and for six months invited updates to the photographs and text to celebrate the 25th anniversary.

Shortly afterwards the website was added to The National Archives’ UK Government Web Archive.
