  Scalby Mills amusement area contains 
 a poolroom, children's rides, slide   
 and pool, machine arcade, cafeteria   
 and souvenir shop.                    
  Peasholm Park and the Glen cover over
 27 acres.  The boating lake of 4 acres
 has canoes and rowing-boats for hire, 
 model naval battles, motor-boat trips,
 water ski-ing displays and Sunday band
 concerts.  The central island has an  
 illuminated "Tree Walk".  The park    
 also contains a miniature golf course,
 putting green, aviary, wishing well   
 and children's boat pool.             
  Scarborough Council also owns a      
 miniature railway which runs between  
 Northstead Manor gardens and Scalby   
 Mills during the summer.  Two quarter 
 scale Pacific locos pull passenger    
 loads of 100 each.
