1986 LANCER BOSS-Fork lift trucks

      Lancer Boss is owned by Sir      
 Neville Bowman-Shaw and his brother   
 and was formed 25 years ago in London 
 before moving to Dunstable and then to
 their present buildings on Grovebury  
 Road. The firm, which specialises in  
 the production of fork lift           
 trucks, operated from a number of     
 sites along this road. The models     
 produced, range from all the 'N' and  
 'R' series to the large 'D' and 'G'   
 series at £250,000 per unit - sold    
 mainly abroad. the main production    
 takes place on sites 3 and 7 whilst   
 exerimental work is carried out at    
 site 2. the head office and design    
 department are to be found at Ridgeway
 Court. the firm employs about 500 at  
 Leighton Buzzard but has a number of  
 smaller units in other parts of the   
 country as well as a Sister factory at
 Steinboc in West Germany.
