1986 Industry in W.Itchenor

   Northshore Boat Yard, established   
 pre-war, is the largest industry in   
 the area, employing 69, specialising  
 in building Southerly and Fisher      
 craft. They provide facilities for    
 yachtsmen and maintain 40 moorings.   
  Bailey & Son, established 1920,      
 maintain and sell craft, mainly       
 Fletcher Speedboats and the Dell Quay 
 Dory. They also sell boat engines and 
 have 6 moorings and employ 6 staff.   
   Haines Boat Yard, established in    
 1914, repairs, fits out various types 
 of craft; has storage facilities;     
 maintains and lays moorings.          
   H.C.Darley & Son are the main yacht 
 chandlers. They repair and service    
 small boats, have 30 moorings and     
 employ 2 plus 3 in the family.        
   The Ship Inn providing drinks,      
 meals, & overnight accommodation,     
 employs 18 staff.
