With the post-war growth of the town, 
 the number of schools has increased   
 dramatically. New purpose-built       
 primary schools have been built to    
 serve the modern housing estates.     
 There are two Infant schools,two      
 Junior schools and the rest(5) are    
 full Primary schools.One Infant and   
 one Junior are C of E Church Aided and
 one Primary is Catholic controlled.The
 schools feed into two Comprehensives. 
 The National(C of E Church Aided) has 
 900 pupils and the Holgate School has 
 approx 1850 pupils. All schools offer 
 a broad curriculum with many out of   
 school activities.                    
 There is also a Further Education     
 centre which offers vocational        
 courses for over-16's.

In 2011 the BBC published the survey online and for six months invited updates to the photographs and text to celebrate the 25th anniversary.

Shortly afterwards the website was added to The National Archives’ UK Government Web Archive.
