 UNITED F.C. BASED AT THE BREWERY FIELD
 HAS ENJOYED A HIGH REPUTATION OVER THE
 PAST 80 YEARS. VICTORIA JUBILEE PARK  
 OFFERS BOWLING GREENS & TENNIS COURTS 
 & A POPULAR INDOOR BOWLS AREA IS CLOSE
 TO WHITWORTH TERRACE. THERE IS A DOG  
 TRACK IN MERRINGTON LANE. THE TOWN'S  
 SUCCESSFUL AMATEUR OPERATIC GROUP     
 PERFORMS REGULARLY AT THE TOWNHALL &  
 THERE IS NOW A JUNIOR GROUP. THE TOWN 
 BAND HAS JUST ENDED A RECORD BREAKING 
 SEASON IN COMPETITIONS & AN ACTIVE    
 DRAMA GROUP IS BASED AT THE SETTLEMENT
 THEATRE. SPENNYMOOR BOASTS A NUMBER OF
 WOMEN'S INSTITUTES AS WELL AS SEVERAL 
 SOCIAL & WORKINGMEN'S CLUBS.

In 2011 the BBC published the survey online and for six months invited updates to the photographs and text to celebrate the 25th anniversary.

Shortly afterwards the website was added to The National Archives’ UK Government Web Archive.
