1986 Fry and Son,West Tytherley
This business started in Tytherley in 1930 by Mr.M.Fry's grandfather.They sell chainsaws,mowers and woodburning fires.The chainsaws are Husqvarna (Swedish),Dolmar and Stihl (Germany) and Echo (Japanese).They sell five makes of mowers including rotary and hover models.The most popular is Honda (Japanese).Also sold are garden cultivators and brush cutters.They have about 15 customers a day.In summer they sell mostly mowers; in winter mostly chainsaws.Three people are employed and Mrs.Fry is the secretary.They sell quite a lot of second hand machinery.Many local estates and contracters buy from their business.The most recommended lawnmower is Hayter; the most recommended chainsaw is Husqvarna.On busy days they have about 15-20 phone calls.
