1986 TOURISM AND HISTORIC INN

 Horton Inn is an historic old coaching
 inn  on Wimborne to Cranborne road,   
 used to have own brewery. It has bars,
 restaurant & 5 bedrooms to let. Owners
 & 1 staff live in & there are 14      
 part-timers. Owners find it difficult 
 to get staff due to isolation of area 
 even though there is local            
 unemploymemt. Trade is local & passing
 increased by summer visitors.         
 There is a post box in car park wall. 
 There are 3 cottages opposite, 1 empty
 but owned by young couple while doing 
 major renovation, second cottage is   
 occupied by a family & is being       
 enlarged. Father commutes & children  
 go to school out of area. Third       
 cottage houses husband & wife & 1     
 child who have returned to village
