1986 SIMPSONS FARM

 SIMPSON'S FARM IN HOGHTON             
 THE FARM COVERS 130 ACRES. THERE ARE  
 ABOUT 80 DAIRY COWS AND 3,000 HENS,   
 AS WELL AS STORE LAMBS.               
 THE COWS PRODUCE 7,000 LITRES OF MILK 
 IN SUMMER AND ABOUT 1,200 LITRES IN   
 WINTER.  THE MILK IS TAKEN TO DAIRY   
 CREST IN BAMBER BRIDGE.               
 THE COWS ARE FED ON GRASS, HAY,       
 BREWER'S GRAIN, COW CAKE, MOLASSES AND
 MINERALS.  THEY ARE MILKED BY MODERN  
 EQUIPMENT AND NOT BY HAND AND IT IS

In 2011 the BBC published the survey online and for six months invited updates to the photographs and text to celebrate the 25th anniversary.

Shortly afterwards the website was added to The National Archives’ UK Government Web Archive.
