1986 HEALTH CARE IN N.BRISTOL
Large general hospital covers 68 acres in Southmead.600 beds available for inpatients.Outpatients & accident department also exists.Many recent advances, including one of the first ever baby care units, also specialised intensive care, & renal depts. All kidney transplants in Southwest occur in Southmead,& transplants are co- ordinated,matching donors & recipients worldwide.Local G.P.'s. Health Centre provides, doctors, dentists, nurses, health visitors,ante-natal care, treatment room,child & family guidance & eye unit. Standard of health is better in wealthier areas.Good health education has improved general health. Not enough attention to dental hygiene & related diet.E.N.T.disorders are common in young children.Modern anxieties lead to more mental illness. Depression becoming more common.

In 2011 the BBC published the survey online and for six months invited updates to the photographs and text to celebrate the 25th anniversary.
Shortly afterwards the website was added to The National Archives’ UK Government Web Archive.
