1986 Sporting Clubs in Yealmpton

 Yealmpton Cricket Club founded in 1849
 is the oldest sporting club. Cricket  
 has been played for over a 100 years. 
 Recently a 'colt' club has been added 
 to encourage youngsters into the game.
 Yealmpton Bowling club  plays on the  
 5/6ths rink situated on the athletic  
 club field at the Western end of the  
 field.It is affiliated to Yealmpton   
 and District Recreation and Athletic  
 club.Now in 1985, with a full         
 membership of 70 players of both sexes
 the club participates in a seasonal   
 programme of matches.                 
 Badminton Club has senior and junior  
 sections. Junior badminton is played  
 in the W.I.Hall on Tuesdays and senior
 badminton on Saturdays at Ivybridge   
 Community College and Marjon.         
 Rifle Club. This is a small bore club 
 meeting on Tuesday and Thursday at the
 Rifle Club Range at athletic field.
