A very high percentage of the         
 population in our area are Protestant 
 and there are churches and chapels of 
 most denominations and the people have
 the choice to worship in either       
 English or Welsh.                     
   However there is a Catholic Church  
 in the town and a well attended       
 Catholic Comprehensive School-St John 
 Lloyd's in our area.                  
   Llanelli is not a cosmopolitan      
 society and there are few other       
 religious sects.However,until the     
 1970's there was a synagogue in the   
 town but this has now closed.
