1986 Science and Technology

   December 24 ,1966.                  
  A Llanelli-born flier has been chosen
 to lead the team of test pilots on the
 Anglo-French Concorde project.  He is 
 Mr.Brian Trubshaw, a member of a well 
 known Llanelli family.He is chief test
 pilot and special director of the     
 Weybridge division of the British     
 Aircraft Corporation. Mr.Trubshaw has 
 led teams on test flights of the      
 B.A.C.One-11 short-haul twin-jet and  
 the super VC10 long-range jet         
 transport.                            
 He is the son of the late Major Harold
 Trubshaw and Mrs.G.Trubshaw.  The     
 Trubshaws used to live at Aelybryn,   
 Felinfoel, which until recently was a 
 W.R.V.S.Home for the aged.            
 In the 1970's the Trubshaw's  home    
 was converted into one of the area's  
 leading hotels- called the Diplomat.
