 Bordered on the south by the          
 London/Fishguard railway and to the   
 north by the A484 Carmarthen/Llanelli 
 road, the village is within the       
 parliamentary constituency of         
 Llanelli, and has a County Councillor 
 representative at Carmarthen, but is  
 administratively controlled by        
 Llanelli Borough Council. Minor local 
 affairs are the responsibility of     
 Pembrey Community Council.            
 Ashburnham Golf Club                  
  Ashburnham Golf Club was established 
 in 1892. It is an 18 hole, link       
 course. In 1978 The Martini Golf      
 Tournament was held there. This year, 
 1985, the Welsh Amateur Tournament    
 will be played there.                 
 Ashburnham Hotel                      
  The Ashburnham Hotel was built in    
 1823. It is the only hotel in Pembrey.
