1986 FARM DESCRIPTION 2

It is a pretty big farm for this part
 of the island.
We have about seven buildings and
 here they are;house,cow shed,barn
 potato shed,work shop and milking
 parlour.
We have about forty nine cows and we
have a lot of cattle kept for beef,
about one hundred and thurty in fact.
That is a lot to feed in the winter
and they eat a lot of grass in the
summer that is why we grow alot of
 grain.
We have quite a lot of crops. One of
them is corn and another one is rye
that grows very fast indeed. We get two
crops from this in one year.

In 2011 the BBC published the survey online and for six months invited updates to the photographs and text to celebrate the 25th anniversary.

Shortly afterwards the website was added to The National Archives’ UK Government Web Archive.

If you are reading this via UK Government Web Archive, then the original Domesday search function and contact form will not work. This is a consequence of the archiving process. See Using Domesday for more details.
