A joint planning application from British Waterways and Bryant Homes
has been submitted to Worcester City Council, to re-develop 25 acres
of land at the waterfront around Diglis Basin.

Birmingham to Worcester canal |
The basin
lies at the end of the Birmingham to Worcester canal, where it meets
the River Severn.
It's near the Cathedral and the historic Commandary area of the city.
It is believed the proposals include over 500 new houses and apartments,
the refurbishment of derelict buildings into offices, a restaurant,
bar and shops.
The plans also include improvements to a footpath which will create
a new riverside promenade along the River Severn.
Worcester City Council's Planning Committee are due to consider the
application later this year and there are also plans for a public
exhibition in the city. |
