Listen to Mick Jones and Tony James talking to BBC Hereford & Worcester's Dan Johnson.

Punk pioneer Mick Jones has announced plans for a pre-London warm-up gig at Drummonds Bar in Worcester.

The former Clash man has teamed up with old friend Tony James (Generation X and Sigue Sigue Sputnik), to form a new band called Carbon/Silicon.

Mick won a Q Award for his production of The Libertines' latest album on Monday night, and he described how it felt to BBC Hereford & Worcester:

"It was actually amazing really, especially since we were up against a load of other records that seemed to be proper records and I suppose it's good that you get an award for battling to make a record."

Mick is also proud of the Clash London Calling DVD that has just been released to mark the 25th anniversary of the landmark album's release:

"I'm really surprised that we're still talking about it now, I really am.

"We never thought that, when we started out, we didn't have that in mind at all."

He promises an entertaining evening to punters at Drummonds next week:

"Well, I think they're going to see a good night a lot of all new material, we don't really play our old stuff from any of our old bands.

"We don't do requests and we haven't had time to work out a medley yet.

"We've got a lot of good new tunes and we feel we've got something to say and it's about being where we're at now really.

"We're not trying to be young guys or anything.

"We've got our attitude which is an adult attitude, we're taking it in an adult way."

Drummonds Manager and long-standing Clash fan Tony Gibbon is very impressed by the band:

"I saw the band a couple of weeks ago and they are truly superb - as exciting as seeing the Clash for the first time!

"I am so excited about having Mick Jones play my venue that I really cannot wait".
