The statue can be found in the centre of Great Malvern at the junction of Church Street and Belle View Terrace.

The statue was designed by local artist Rose Garrard.

In March 2002 thieves attempted to steal the statue, despite the fact it weighs more than a ton.

Edward Elgar lived in Malvern for many years and the hills inspired some of his greatest compositions.
