- One
of the most famous games in the history of the FA Cup
took place at Edgar street when Hereford United, then
a non-league club, beat Newcastle United 2-1.
- That
match, in 1972, marked the commentary debut of John Motson.
- The
two ends of the ground are called the Meadow End and the
Blackfriars End.
- Floodlights
were used for the first time at Edgar Street in 1952.
