Teenagers
are giving an idea of what it's like to drive under the influence
of drugs thanks to a new machine. |

This
nation-wide anti drug driving campaign uses a Formula One racing
car simulator to give drivers the experience of being behind the
wheel while under the influence.
Students from the Sixth Form and Technology Colleges in Hereford
got the chance to use the simulator at Play Nightclub in the city
centre.
They
put on specialist eyewear which simulate being under the influence
of drugs.

The
campaign follows the publication of national statistics showing
a worrying increase in the number of road deaths that are drug related.
Research carried out by the RAC found that 18% of road accident
victims were discovered to have illegal drugs in their bloodstream.
The findings also showed that young people are twice as likely to
be driven by someone under the influence of drugs rather than someone
over the legal drink driving limit. |
