Worcester Yeomanry - living history
A group of enthusiasts brings to life the Worcestershire Yeomanry, and their 200 year history. Careful research has been done to ensure that their uniforms and equipment is authentic.
The Worcester Yeomanry are a group of military history enthusiasts dedicated to recreating a military unit formed at the height of the Napoleonic Wars.
In 1797 the Worcestershire Yeomanry was formed to back up the regular army, in case of invasion.
Their commanding officer was Lieutenant Colonel John Somers Cocks, the first Lord of Eastnor castle.
They trained at Eastnor Castle, Bevere, Madresfield Court, Strensham Court, Kempsey, Pitchcroft and Powick Hams.
