Now they are appealing for help finding the last ten pupils. It was a chance encounter on a website that first started Maurice Francis and Ian Bennett on their search for former pupils at the Worcester Technical High School. ![]() Ian (left) and Maurice (right) They were helped by an original clipping from the Worcester Evening News of August 1962, with all their O level results in, including full surnames and all initials. Using an old phone book, and the internet, they have managed to track down 50 of the 60 ex pupils of The Worcester Technical High school who started in September of 1959, and to find that seven have passed away. Now they are appealing for help to trace the remaining ten missing pupils, to see if they can organise a reunion, 50 years on. Ian says: "Any help in tracing (these people) would be very much appreciated, so that we can all get together, have a drink, have some food, compare hair and waist-lines, have a laugh and remember old times." Wanted listThe names of the people they are trying to trace are: A.D. Bailey (Tony); Lawrence K. Danter; Peter May; Barry Nicholson; Helena E. Nikoden; Ray A. Roberts; Chris Tyler; Ron A. Walker; Tony Wild; and Tony Wilkins. All will now be in their early 60s, and were born around 1945/46.
The school was based in The Victoria Institute, Sansome Walk, where the city library and museum is, with the games field on Perdiswell, metalwork in Powick Lane (now Crowngate) and woodwork in Hounds Lane, (behind All Saints church) - the school closed in 1966.
