Kate getting tattooed

Tattoo girl

Kate, from Hereford, sees herself as a walking work of art - she is covered from head to toe in tattos. She told BBC Hereford & Worcester about her body-art, people's reactions, and the pain involved.

Kate from Hereford is 25, and is covered from head to toe in tattoos.

She's been having her body painted since the age of 19 and, apart from her face and the odd space here and there, there's not much of her that isn't adorned with colourful art:

"It hurts a bit when you have one done, the most painful has to be the one on my neck which took around three hours, but that's certainly the one that draws most attention."

She told BBC Hereford & Worcester's Howard Bentham at Breakfast that her tattoos usually get a reaction:

"People stop and stare at me - some say the designs are beautiful, others looked repulsed and say they'll look dreadful when I'm old.

"My mum and dad are pretty OK about them - I do a lot of them myself and really want to be a tattooist."

The tattoos feature everything from roses to rock emblems, and her latest features a pair of praying hands:

"Every single tattoo tells a story - from the initials of my old boy friend, to the lady of the night on rollerskates.

"A lot of them are based on old fashioned tattoos, and go back to my Dad's era - he pretends not to see them, mind!"
