This new long-distance footpath runs for 109 miles from Bridgnorth to Gloucester, and has been designed to show the walker how geology has played a significant part in influencing the wildlife, archaeology and history of this area.

The way-marked path has been devised by the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Earth Heritage Trust, and will be opened in June 2009 as part of the Malvern Walking Festival.

A special 136 page guidebook is being produced, breaking the walk down into 17 sections, and highlighting points of interest along the way.

The rocks and geology along the route illustrate some of the most important events in the development of planet Earth, including how the continents collided, and show evidence of everything from tropical seas to polar deserts.
