A singer-songwriter from the Marches who has been writing tunes since she was fourteen years old.
Jess Childs has been singing since she was a little girl, surrounded by music in the mid-Wales farmhouse she grew up in.
She wrote her first song 'Alright' when she was fourteen, in a music lesson at school, and performed it in a concert the same day.
Since then she has received good reception for her writing and performances, appearing with her guitar for support at various venues in and around mid-Wales, and further afield in South Wales and Herefordshire.
She has featured in the Brecon Fringe Festival line-up during Brecon Jazz Festival for some years, performing in the grounds of Brecon Cathedral and the 'A Frame' art gallery, and also supported country singer and Radio 2's Bob Harris favourite Angie Palmer during her UK tour at Brecon's Theatre Brycheiniog.
Jess has also appeared at The Workhouse Festival in Llanfyllin, Hay-on-Wye's Literary's Fringe Festival, at Abersytwyth Arts Centre's MidMad Festival and at its acoustic platform.
You can listen to all the latest music from across the two counties on the Friday Session Introducing... every week from 7pm, on BBC Hereford & Worcester.
