Jenny Lind - dubbed The Swedish Nightingale - one of the world's most famous singers in the second half on the 19th century, is buried in Great Malvern.

She became famous in Europe before being invited by the circus entrepreneur P. T. Barnum to undertake a 93 date concert tour of the USA - this made her the extraordinary sum of £250,000.

She passed her final years in Malvern, living at Wynd Point behind Great Malvern Priory, until her death in 1887.

Her grave, in Great Malvern cemetery off Madresfield Road, is well signposted, and is marked by a large memorial featuring a lyre, and topped with a cross.

If you know of any famous graves or memorials in Herefordshire or Worcestershire that we could feature we like to hear from you.
