An ambient rock duo combining creamy vocals and rich acoustic guitar work and ethereal ambient soundscapes.
Fellfield is the ambient rock duo of Sam Eden and Hywel Payne.
The band was formed in the autumn of 2007 and, after a brief hiatus due to geographical differences, they are now active once again.
Sam does lyrics, vocals, guitar (mostly acoustic) and piano - Hywel plays guitar, drums, bass, keyboards and anything else he can get his hands on (violin, bowed saw, harp etc).
The band came together from very different ends of the rock spectrum.
Sam previously played in Cardiff rock band Cellar door, whilst he studied Geology at Cardiff University.
He also performed as a solo artist in the bars and clubs of the French Alps.
Hywel previously played in the London based post-rock group Comfy Moss, as well as performing as a solo act up and down the country, and on Resonance FM in London, where he was attending Ravensboune college studying sound design.
Fellfield's live shows have been described as slow motion rock erosion, and have even been said to be hypnotizing.
This captivating atmosphere is achieved by combining the diverse creamy vocals and rich acoustic guitar work of Sam Eden, with the ethereal ambient soundscapes and terrifying canyons of noise created by Hywel Payne and his plethora of mysterious electronic devices.
Both Sam and Hywel have been interested in music from a young age, and new each other at school.
However, it was only after University when they found themselves back in the hometown of Malvern, that the duo came together.
Sam's musical influences include Damien Rice, Lifehouse, Johnny Cash, Newton Faulkner, Martin Thorne and Einaudi.
Hywel's musical influences include Stars of the Lid, Birchville Cat Motel, Growing and Fennesz.
Fellfield have played many gigs in Wales and the Midlands since the band reformed.
Their ideal gig would be to support Sigur Ros on a tour of Iceland.
You can listen to all the latest music from across the two counties on the Friday Session Introducing... every week from 7pm, on BBC Hereford & Worcester.
