Belly dance for Pudsey

BBC Hereford & Worcester and Pudsey need your help to break a world record on Saturday 8 November...

BBC Hereford & Worcester are once again doing something different for Children in Need.

Over the years we've collected a mountain of pennies, taken Pudsey 500 miles in one day - even flying him to Belfast and back - and produced several variety shows.

This year, we're asking you to:

"Get your bellies out for Pudsey"

BBC Hereford & Worcester and Pudsey need your help to break The Guinness World Record for the most people belly dancing simultaneously.

The record for this feat was set back in 2005 in Hungary, when 267 people danced a five minute routine.

We plan to do similar, but this time with many more people belly dancing!

The time and place

The attempt will take place on Saturday 8 November at Malvern Theatres, and we're hoping that up to 500 men (yes MEN), women and children will come along and join in the fun.

You don't need any experience, there's no upper age limit and the routine is so simple, Pudsey himself will be taking part.

However children must be at least eight years old and under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.

It's free to take part, but we're hoping people will be generous and donate to the Children in Need appeal on the day.

All you have to do is get your friends, families and colleagues to take part.

Practise your belly dance routine now

We've even tried to make it easier for you by putting the belly dance routine here online:

Professional belly dancer, Tina Hobin from Mamble, near Kidderminster, has choreographed the routine, and she will there on the day performing, along with other dancers.

You can simply turn up on the day, but it helps if you can register in advance:

Turn up early enough to check you know the dance routine BEFORE the actual Guinness world record attempt which will begin at 12 noon.

Spread the word

If you would like to help us let more people know, we have posters you can put up around your school, college or workplace - just let us have your address and we'll get them to you.

So come on, get those bellies at the ready, and you could even make your own jingling hip scarves to wear on the day.

Help us raise lots of money for Children in Need, and you could be a Record Breaker with BBC Hereford & Worcester.

We look forward to seeing you there!
