As part of the BBC Saving Planet Earth series, singer Toyah Wilcox searches for some unlikely creatures in some unlikely places.

She Visited Herefordshire to find out more about this semi aquatic mammal. Water voles have suffered a calamitous collapse in population in recent decades. From the end of the 1980s to the mid 1990s, the British water vole population declined by nearly 90% from 7 million to just under 900 thousand. In some parts of the midlands, the population has continued to fall.
