They were featured on Sky, had a great music video and sold out venues all over Hereford city - but as with many bands, 'musical differences' got the better of them.
KiNg MaNtIs were something special, with all three members keen songwriters, the result was an exciting fusion combining crunchy guitars, unforgettable choruses, and a dynamic 'in your face' sound.
Alternative rock band KiNg MaNtIs were formed in March 2000 as !BURST!
The band reached the final of The Wales National Battle Of The Bands, of which over sixty bands originally entered, and were hotly tipped by music insiders as a band to watch out for in the future.
!BURST! were then featured on BBC Weekend Live, BBC Radio, and appeared on the cover CD of a national magazine.
After many successful gigs, the band, now performing as KiNg MaNtIs, launched their debut EP to a sell out crowd in Hereford and broke record venue takings.
And following a request from Sky music channel, Scuzz TV, KiNg MaNtIs put together a new video of live performances to accompany their singles.
Sadly the band split in 2005 because of 'musical differences'.
You can listen to all the latest music from across the two counties on the Friday Session, every week from 7pm, on BBC Hereford & Worcester.
