Sylvia Syms

Actress who is most famous for her film work through the 1950s and 60s...

When BBC Hereford and Worcester's Tony Fisher shared a Pie and a Pint with Sylvia Syms, he got to find out whether or not it was real lager that John Mills drank in Ice-Cold in Alex.

Sylvia is most famous for her film work through the 1950s and 60s, starring in films like My Teenage Daughter.

She was also nominated for a British Film Academy award after appearing in the 1974 film The Tamarind Seed, alongside Julie Andrews and Omar Sharif.

More recently she played the Queen Mother in The Queen, and she will be appearing in Eastenders soon.
