Arnold George Dorsey adopted the stage name of Engelbert Humperdinck, after the German composer, in 1965 when his manager convinced him it was a name that people would remember.
He has now sold over 150 million records, has established himself as one of the best live performers in a number of sold-out tours and has more than 200 fan clubs around the world.
