Lou Vincent was born in the small town of Warkworth near Auckland in 1978.
He became interested in cricket at a very early age as his dad, Mike, used to represent Eden-Roskill in first grade cricket and took Lou too all the international matches at Eden Park.
At the age of 12, his parents went their separate ways - taking Mike and Lou to Adelaide in Australia, where they began playing in the age-tournaments.
After many disputes between him and his coach, he decided to move back to New Zealand when he was 18, after he was left out of several key age-group games.
But when he returned home, he got the break he was hoping for - a chance to play for the New Zealand under-19 side in the 1998 Youth World Cup.
Off season, he teamed up with Esholt Cricket Club in England, while continuing to score high figures at all the big-named clubs with New Zealand.
Nowadays, he can regulary be found on the pitch at New Road playing for Worcestershire.
