Noah's Ark Trust has been awarded £213,433 over a period of three years so that they can start a grief support service for bereaved children, young people and their families in Herefordshire. The Trust has been supporting bereaved children, young people and their families throughout Worcestershire for the past eight years. The money, which comes from the Big Lottery Fund, means that their service can now expand geographically in order to provide a similar support service to bereaved families throughout Herefordshire. Support for this expansion has come from professionals working with bereaved children and young people in Herefordshire, where there is currently no similar service available.
Sue Smith, Fundraising Manager with the Trust said "We are overjoyed that the Big Lottery Fund has recognised the value of our service to this extent. "We have been eager to expand into Herefordshire for some considerable time, and this announcement now enables us to provide grief support to bereaved children and their families in the county. "As in Worcestershire, our service will be available totally free of charge to bereaved children and their families in Herefordshire, to ensure accessibility to all. "However, to enable us to continue this policy, financial support from the Herefordshire community will be vital alongside the support from the Big Lottery Fund." |
