The History Centre holds microfilm and microfiche copies of Worcestershire records and some national records, all helpful for tracing your family tree. There are also various CD-ROM packages available for use. There are also reference books about Worcester and Worcestershire, local trade directories from 1790 onwards, local maps, the photographic survey of Worcestershire (on microfiche), and newspapers from 1712 onwards (on microfilm). The Centre is equipped with 15 Internet computers, which you can use free of charge, although a small fee is payable for any printouts, and donations are, of course, always welcome. The History Centre is fully equipped with 44 microfilm/fiche readers, but it is still advisable to book in advance of your visit. Should you require use of the CD-ROM packages or the Internet, you may book this by the hour on the day of your visit. last updated: 22/04/2008 at 10:01 You are in: Hereford and Worcester > history > weblinks > Worcester History Centre |
