Great views of a market town

These pictures of Leominster, including the lovely Priory, come from Bob Bilsland. They are 360 degree panoramic pictures, giving you an all-round view. They take a couple of minutes to donwload, but it's worth the wait!

Leominster is one of the Marches towns, close to Offa's Dyke and the Welsh Border, an area rich in history.

The town gets it's name from Earl Leofric, husband of Lady Godiva, the celebrated bare back rider.

Leominster Priory outside >

The lovely red sandstone Priory is all that remains of the 12th century Benedictine monastery.

The monastery vanished during Henry VIII's reign and the Priory is only part of what was once a much bigger church within a vast set of buildings.

Leominster Priory inside

The Priory as we see it today dates from a Victorian restoration under Sir Gilbert Scott.
