A teenage emo trio from Evesham - influenced by New Found Glory, Inme and My Chemical Romance - who are sadly no longer together.
Rictus formed in November 2002, originally as a two-piece. With bassist Oly Edkins added to the band, the three-piece began to write pop-punk songs, influence by the likes of New Found Glory and My Chemical Romance.
Somewhat embarrassingly for them, the band confess to choosing their name when visiting the website dictionary.com - where Rictus was the word of the day.
dictionary.com defines Rictus as: "The expanse of an open mouth, a bird's beak, or similar structure."
After they left school, they recorded an 11-track album and played numerous local gigs.
After two years together, the band split up and went on to form other projects.
You can listen to all the latest music from across the two counties on the Friday Session, every week from 7pm on BBC Hereford & Worcester.
