Visitors to Croft Castle can soak up the atmosphere of the 18th century at the Georgian event this Bank Holiday Sunday, the 29th May. You are invited to go along in Georgian costume and join in the recreation of life in the 1780s.

Prizes, including champagne and chocolates, will be awarded for the best costumes for Georgian ladies, gents and children. In the run up to Trafalgar Day, Croft is keen to promote its 18th century connections. Croft Castle is built in Georgian style, and also has a large quantity of period paintings and furnishings. Families can enjoy a range of activities including a History Hunt and Quill Writing. Children can also have a go at making traditional, sweet smelling, orange pomanders to take home. Period music will be performed by a violinist and pianist between 2.00pm and 4.00pm making sure the day goes with a swing.

You can also take a rare opportunity to view the stables that will be re-opened for the day. Croft Castle will be open from 1.00pm, with costume judging at 3.00pm. Admission on this day is free. |
