It's nice and snug in your womb now, so you may notice that your baby isn't moving around so much. You'll probably feel more of a squirm than a definite kick. The layer of hair that's been covering your baby's body has now been shed completely. Your baby's fat stores and greasy skin coating - called vernix - are providing the insulation now.

If your blood pressure is on the high side, you'll be advised to rest more - you may even have further checks - just to be on the safe side. If you've been told you could be in line for a caesarean section, because of your baby's position or because of the shape or size of your pelvis and you don't feel comfortable, ask for another opinion.
How are your antenatal classes going? You could organise a night out pre-birth to nurture some budding friendships. If you're still at work, you might want to think about when to start your maternity leave. This can be any time from the 11th week before your baby's due. Most women leave it later so they can have more time with their baby. It's up to you.
Daddy-to-be: if your partner is going to be with you during labour and birth, you could talk to him about your birth plan so he's aware of the kind of experience you'd like. You could try some massage techniques too. Many women experience backache during labour, so a massage could help relieve pain and tension - even if you don't want to be touched! Involving your partner and helping him prepare for labour may also ease any anxiety he's feeling about the whole event!
