Sandra Scott

Dr Scott trained as a psychiatrist at the Bethlem Royal and Maudsley hospitals. She specialises in child psychiatry and is based at the Maudsley.

She also works with Kids Company and is a trustee of ChildHope.

Dr Scott has worked on TV and film projects, including BBC One's Casualty, and contributes to various publications.

Jenny Southall

Jenny Southall retrained as a psychotherapist after a career in journalism. In addition to her work in private practice, she works as a counsellor in a local GP service.

She has also worked for the mental health organisation MIND, for Metanoia Counselling and Psychotherapy Service and for Ealing Abbey Counselling Service.

She has four years experience as a mentor for business and for young adults at the Haringey Young Carers Project. She is especially interested in parenting and family issues.

Samantha Stear

Dr Stear is science director at the Sugar Bureau in London, communicating scientific evidence about the contribution of sugars and other carbohydrates to a healthy balanced diet.

A fitness consultant and trainer, Dr Stear has competed in sports at national and international level, and has a keen interest in sports nutrition.

Toni Steer

Dr Toni Steer is a nutritionist in the nutrition communications group at the Medical Research Council, Human Nutrition Research Unit.

She specialises in translating nutrition science into understandable and useful messages for the Government, industry, non-governmental organisations, community groups and the media.

Toni has co-authored, with Dr Susan Jebb, an evidence review on parental attitudes and beliefs in relation to food and activity, commissioned by the Department of Health.

She worked closely with BBC Science on The Truth About Food.

Toni is a registered dietician, with experience in clinical practice.

Maxine Stinton

Maxine is a freelance editor and writer. She has worked for the UK's leading weight-loss company and helped to launch the health and beauty channel of a major website for teenage girls.

Her specialist areas are general health, mental wellbeing, relationships and nutrition.

Ros Taylor

Ros has worked as a senior clinical psychologist in the NHS, and is a psychologist and managing director of Plus Consulting.

She's also an author and broadcaster.

Steve Taylor

Dr Taylor is a consultant physician and lead consultant for the HIV service at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, one of the larget HIV units in the Midlands. He is also an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Birmingham. He trained in general medicine and infectious diseases, and specialised in genitourinary medicine (sexual health) and HIV medicine. Dr Taylor lectures and teaches widely on all aspects of HIV and STI care.

Dr Taylor's responses are his personal opinion, based on his extensive experience - and that of colleagues - of treating patients with HIV.

James Tighe

James is a clinical nurse research fellow at the Bracton Centre, Oxleas NHS Trust, and is an honorary research worker in the health service research department at the Institute of Psychiatry.

He worked as a community psychiatric nurse in a general practice and community mental health team before specialising in addictions.

Jeffrey Tobias

Dr Tobias is a consultant who has specialised in cancer medicine at University College London Hospitals for more than 20 years.

He has written extensively for professionals and the public, and is a trustee of the Cancer Research Campaign.
