Delays Greg Gilbert
Delays live session & interview
Southampton's much-loved indie band made a special guest appearance on Sally Taylor's show, playing three acoustic tracks live on BBC Radio Solent.
It's been another non-stop year for the retro-pop four-piece with appearances on the summer festival circuit and tours in America and Mexico. And there was the release of their third album.
Aaron & Greg Gilbert
During their visit to Sally Taylor's show, the band played acoustic versions of recently recorded covers These Days by Nico and Bad Moon Rising by Creedence Clearwater Revival - as well as a Delays original, Nearer Than Heaven.
Delays got together when they were at Bitterne Park School - the band is made up of brothers Greg and Aaron Gilbert, Colin Fox and Rowly. They've been likened to the The Byrds and The Hollies with their angelic harmonies and melodic guitars.
Despite their success, they haven't lost touch with their Southampton roots - the band recently announced a mini December home town tour of four venues on four consecutive dates which all immediately sold out.
Having signed to Rough Trade in 2004, they released their debut album Faded Seaside Glamour the same year. It boasted top Twenty hits Long Time Coming and Nearer Than Heaven.
