The Modern Fighting Vehicles

Hampshire/Dorset band The Modern Fighting Vehicles (MFV) whose members hail from Southampton and Bournemouth served up an indie-feast in the South:Live Live Lounge on Easter Sunday.

According to the band they got together "because we thought being in a band would make us irresistible to the fairer sex. We were wrong!"

Although they might not be overly successful to the 'lay-deeze', they did win over the (all male) demo panel a few months back which is what paved the way to their session on the show.

Stylistically, The MFV go big on guitars and straddle both dance/electronica and rock, and are working on developing a sound that no-one else has.

They've been together for three years, have toured with Palladium and The Little Ones and have recently released an E.P, The MFV - Robot.

Their other claim to fame is scoffing BBC Radio Solent's Julian Clegg's breakfast when they arrived at the studios for an interview after a particularly heavy night out on the tiles.

The band played four live tracks; then the band's drummer Mo Bogarde, and bass player Jake Stevens joined Phil in the studio for a chat.

If you're in a band from Hampshire or the Isle of Wight and would like to be considered for the show simply send in your CD together with a completed South:Live Entry Form and keep your fingers crossed!
