BBC IntroducingYou are in: Hampshire > Entertainment > Music > BBC Introducing > The Mopes ![]() The MopesCountry rockers The Mopes had an outing on South:Live in December, the seven-piece band from Southampton played three tracks and chatted to Phil Jackson. After receiving six thumbs up (two each from the South:Live demo panelists) in their outing on the show a few months ago, The Mopes took to the stage of our Brighton studio on 16 December. The band started out as a duo in 2003 playing Super Furry Animals covers in an attic, but came together properly as a seven-piece outfit last year.
Help playing audio/video Since then, they've enjoyed sell out shows in their hometown and this South:Live session came hot on the heels of another gig at the legendary Joiners, where they were joined by fellow live lounge veterans Hijera and Birdpen. You can listen to four tracks from their South:Live session and their interview with Phil Jackson by clicking the audio links above. If you're in a band from Hampshire or the Isle of Wight and would like to be considered for the show simply send in your CD together with a completed South:Live Entry Form and keep your fingers crossed!
