Sunday nights on BBC Radio Solent are reserved for the region's top new bands - between 7-9pm specialist music show, South:Live is broadcast across the south and online via BBC iPlayer.

Presented by Phil Jackson from our studios in Brighton, South:Live showcases unsigned musicians from the south - virtually all the music played during the show comes from the demos listeners have sent in.

The show features a demo panel who cast their ears over three artists who've been plucked from the demo bag. You can join the debate by text (07786 20 70 70) or if you're near a PC, then you can e-mail the show - south.live@bbc.co.uk

Each week a band are also invited into the studios to play a live session during the show in a specially designed studio and have a chat with Phil.

Believe it or not, there's more!  The show also brings you a selection of the top stories in local and international music news, along with tipping gigs that are coming up across the south during the week.

All of this is punctuated by an eclectic selection of music by unsigned artists from across the South.
