Wizzard perform I Wish It Could Be Christmas...

Wizzard perform on Christmas TOTP

Christmas Songs

As Christmas approaches and all the well-known festive songs come out for an airing we thought we'd see if you could rustle up a festive masterpiece of your own.

Every year all the familiar novelty records, festive heart-breakers and glam rock stompers get dusted off and played on the radio - some may be music to your ears, others may drive you bonkers.

We all have our favourites to get us into the festive spirit, whether it's The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl with Fairytale Of New York, Wham's Last Christmas or Wizzard's - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday.

This year for a bit of fun, we thought we'd ask you to put together a festive tune. We'd also like to put a face to the tune, so please include a jpg of you and your fellow, festive musicians.

You could be a local unsigned band, a group of school or work mates or it could be just you and your sleigh bells!

A selection of your songs will be featured on the website and on BBC Radio Solent's breakfast show with Julian Clegg.

You can either e-mail an .mp3 (hampshire@bbc.co.uk) or post your entry on CD to:  Christmas Song, BBC Radio Solent, Broadcasting House, Havelock Road, Southampton, SO14 7PU.
